1931 Murder – “Pioneer Dead, Son-In-Law Held: W. W. “Doc” Guyton, 82, Panhandle pioneer, was dead today and his former son-in-law Clarence Pryor was in jail…following a domestic dispute.” (The Taylor Daily Press, 13 Jul 1931)

1931 Murder Conviction – Clarence PRYOR found guilty in the shooting of his father in law Dr. W. W. Guyton on July 12th. The prosecution requested the death penalty and the jury recommended 15 years. Pryor claimed self defense. (Abilene Reporter-News, 13 Sept 1931)
